Elijah Manley releases biographical “The Arc of Hope” campaign video

Fort Lauderdale, FL — Elijah Manley, Democratic candidate for Florida’s 20th congressional district, released the video “The Arc of Hope” narrating his experience with homelessness and poverty, and his present work as a substitute teacher, organizer, and candidate for Congress.
Manley is running on a campaign platform that rejects all corporate PAC donations while advocating for Medicare for All, a Federal Jobs Guarantee, a $20 an hour minimum wage, universal pre-k and childcare, tuition free public college, and a 100% carbon free economy.
“Poverty is not a crime — it’s a policy decision,” said Manley in an accompanying statement.
“While our leaders in Washington lack the strategy to take on Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s corruption, Republicans are robbing Medicaid blind, shutting down Social Security offices, and laying off federal workers. Instead of fighting back, my opponent is busy facing an ethics investigation and making shady out-of-court settlements for $5.8 million in missing taxpayer funds. District 20 is ready to move on and elect a leader ready to fight for all of us.”
Manley has been a lifelong activist and Democratic Party organizer, including as lead plaintiff of a successful lawsuit against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for delaying special legislative elections in majority Black South Florida districts. Manley has volunteered with the Broward School Board Facilities Task Force and Human Relations Committee, the Broward Democratic Party Environmental Caucus, Progressive Caucus, Black Caucus, and Dolphin Democrats, the National Youth Rights Association, the Black Lives Matter Alliance of Broward County, the Downtown Fort Lauderdale Civic Association, ACLU of FL, and the Fight for $15.
Manley is endorsed by the College Democrats of America and Path to Progress.
