Fort Lauderdale, FL — Elijah Manley's campaign for Florida's 20th Congressional District announced today that it has earned the endorsements of Florida Rising and Dream Defenders, two of the state's most influential grassroots organizing and racial justice organizations.
Florida Rising, a statewide organization built around community organizing and voter power in working-class and Black and Brown communities, said in its endorsement announcement:
"Florida Rising is proud to endorse candidates who share our vision for a Florida where working families can afford to stay, every child can learn without fear, and corporations are held accountable, not the other way around."
Dream Defenders, the Black-led racial and economic justice organization founded in the wake of Trayvon Martin's killing, echoed that call in its own endorsement announcement:
"We need more candidates who come from our communities and that understand what working people are up against. Folks who are ready to fight for affordable housing, access to healthcare, living wages, voting rights, and a good life for all."
Both organizations highlighted Manley’s work as a public school teacher, community organizer, and progressive champion. Their support adds significant grassroots momentum to Manley’s campaign as mail ballots reach voters across South Florida.
"Florida Rising and Dream Defenders Fight PAC are two of the premier civil rights organizations fighting for a Florida that works for all of us." Manley said. "Their support means so much to me as we build a multi-racial, multi-generational, progressive movement for working families in Florida’s 20th District."
