What Voters Need To Learn
Likely Democratic primary voters in FL-20 need to learn, see, hear, and see-on-go that Elijah Manley is a dedicated educator, community advocate, and lifelong progressive focused on results.
Raised by a single mother in Fort Lauderdale’s historic Sistrunk community, Elijah knows firsthand the struggles that too many South Floridian families face. He understands what it’s like to go to school hungry, to live without electricity, and to wonder where his family will sleep at night. These circumstances motivated Elijah to fight for families like his own.
He began speaking out at school board and city council meetings, advocating for housing, food security, and racial justice. After the devastating Parkland shooting, Elijah channeled his energy into the March for Our Lives movement to enact commonsense gun reform.
Elijah knows the pain Floridians are facing today and is running for Congress to be a champion the people of South Florida can count on. Eager to serve his community, he will fight to lower costs, safeguard democracy, and tackle corruption in Congress. Our communities deserve transparent, accountable, ethical leadership in Congress that will put people – not big corporations and wealthy special interests – first for a change. Elijah will deliver the representation we deserve.
Elijah Manley is more than a substitute teacher and working-class organizer—he’s a relentless fighter who knows what it means to struggle and overcome. Growing up in poverty and homelessness right here in Florida’s 20th congressional district, Elijah has experienced the challenges so many families face today. That’s why he’s running for Congress: to fight for affordable housing, dignified healthcare, good-paying jobs, and a strong economy that works for everyone—not just the few.
