Elijah Manley has opened a narrow lead in the Democratic Primary for Florida’s 20th Congressional District as legal troubles weigh heavily on the incumbent.

New polling of likely Primary voters shows Manley edging Democratic U.S. Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick in multiple ballot scenarios, with a large majority of respondents saying the Congresswoman should resign following a federal indictment.

Elijah Manley, Democrat for Congress in Florida’s 20th Congressional District released the following statement after Judge Daniel Casey tossed out Cherfilus-McCormick v. Manley due to failure to serve.

A new, bipartisan political action committee focused on strengthening U.S. global aid is throwing its support behind Democrat Elijah Manley’s bid for Florida’s 20th Congressional District.

The Alliance 4 American Leadership, founded by Palm Beach resident Asher Moss after the dissolution of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), endorsed Manley at its launch party in the county over the weekend.
