Elijah supports a living wage for all working class people, that will enable livable socioeconomic status.
The current federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour is too low for anyone to live on. A higher minimum wage will help create jobs and grow the economy. The declining value of the minimum wage is one of the primary causes of wage inequality between low- and middle-income workers, and that a majority of Americans, including a slim majority of self-described conservatives, support increasing the minimum wage. It's time for the wage to increase. Elijah's plan would increase the wage by 75 cents per year, so that wages can keep up with the cost of living. There's no reason why people should be working two or three jobs just to get end's meet. We must enable better living conditions so that people won't turn to crime.
